🐴 Nitro Ointment (400 g) | Veterinary Nitrofurazone Antibacterial Dressing for Horses

Protect your horses from stubborn skin infections and accelerate recovery with Nitro Ointment. Formulated by Dominion Veterinary Laboratories Ltd. in Canada, this highly effective topical nitrofurazone ointment is an essential antibacterial dressing. It is engineered to treat and prevent local bacterial infections associated with superficial wounds, minor burns, cutaneous ulcers, pyodermas, and painful cracked heels (scratches) in horses.

⚡ Key Benefits & Why It Works

  • Targeted Antibacterial Action: Contains broad-spectrum nitrofurazone to aggressively halt bacterial replication at the infection site.
  • Versatile Application Styles: Easily applies as a thick direct ointment, a stable bandage dressing, or dilutes into a therapeutic wet pack.
  • Water-Soluble Base: Crafted in a premium polyglycol base that blends cleanly with wound fluids and washes off skin easily without tearing sensitive tissue.
  • Heals Cracked Heels & Scratches: Softens crusty skin tissue and fights the deep bacteria responsible for equine lower-leg dermatitis.
  • Trusted Veterinary Shield: A proven, cost-effective first-aid staple utilized by Canadian stable managers and horse trainers for decades.

🧴 Directions for Use & Application Methods

Always clean and thoroughly dry the target skin area with mild soap and water before applying the ointment.

  • Direct Ointment Application: Apply a generous layer of Nitro Ointment directly over the affected skin area. Keep the ointment in continuous contact with the lesion for 12 to 24 hours.
  • Gauze & Bandage Dressing: Spread the ointment evenly over a sterile gauze pad, place it directly in contact with the wound, and wrap with a clean stable bandage.
  • Wet Dressing Dilution: Dilute 1 part Nitro Ointment with 2 to 3 parts sterile water or sterile saline solution. Apply the mixed fluid solution as a wet pack several times daily.
